Rabbit has been feeding people well for centuries. From survival of Indigenous peoples to its role in the Victory Gardens of World War II and in culinary traditions around the world β€” rabbit has been savored in multi-cultural and gourmet dishes as well as in at-home family recipes since the beginning of time.

Wholesomeness is in our heritage. Since 1911 β€” when Natural State Rabbit was started in the backyard of a California family's home with a pair of New Zealand white rabbits β€” the vision for the company has been unwavering: to produce a sustainable, natural, high-protein food of great quality. As our company has grown and now works to support a network of small domestic farms, that focus remains.

Natural State Rabbit is Naturally Better Meat. Raised on a vegetarian diet of sweet grasses, barley and whole grains, the meat is also minimally processed with no additives or preservatives.
